Greenhouse
The Biology Department maintains two greenhouses. The Teaching Greenhouse houses the plant collection as well as plants grown for use in undergraduate laboratories and undergraduate research projects. The Research Greenhouse and Headhouse contain faculty and graduate student research projects. The Biology greenhouses are managed by greenhouse staff, and overseen by the Greenhouse Committee.
Shannon Point Marine Center
Shannon Point Marine Center (SPMC) is an active research and teaching laboratory located in Anacortes, WA. SPMC is located on a 78-acre campus covered by a mature Pacific lowland forest dominated by Douglas fir and cedar trees and bordered by 3,000 feet of undisturbed beachfront. SPMC hosts courses from a variety of Western departments, including Biology and serves as an interdisciplinary research and education center.
