Research & Travel Support

Fellowships

Fellowships are funded opportunities to support a graduate student’s academic, research, or training pursuits. In general, fellowships are dispersed as stipends to offset living expenses while a student pursues training or an educational opportunity.

Biology Department fellowships support Biology graduate student summer research. Fellowships are not compensation for work performed.

Information about external fellowships is available at the WWU’s Fellowship Office: Fellowships | Western Washington University

Scholarships

Scholarship awards typically fund tuition and course expenses. All WWU scholarship awards require completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid | Financial Aid Department | Western Washington University
